Discover Edible Art in Old Bisbee

In Bisbee there are many forms of art an culture carried only in the small shops in Old Bisbee.

You may not think of chocolate as an art form, but a visit to Chocolate on Tombstone Canyon where the chocolatier makes delectable confections tiny edible works of art will change your mind.

The world-renowned Killer Bee Guy also has a small shop on Main Street where he sells honeys and mustards made from the honey he collects from homes where the bees have set up colonies, as well as his hives.

Be sure to check out the Divine Tea Store and the Bisbee Olive Oil Store for some unusual blends of fancy.

Come Share Something Special

If you time your trip to Bisbee just right, you can partake in some of the most fun times that you only find in a small town; the down-home Festival of Lights the day after Thanksgiving and 4th of July celebration; the now famous Bisbee Blue Festival the lovely and quaint home tour and garden tour; and without a doubt, Bisbee's most famous event - the Bisbee 1000 Great Stair Climb - that draws thousands to climb Old Bisbee's stairs and hills on a 5k route.

There are also fun small benefits for local non-profits like the annual Chocolate Testing in February, the Vintage Baseball Tournament in April, the annual Copper City Classic Car Show in May, Cars & Bikes on the Vista in August and the Vintage Bisbee Wine Tasting in October.

Brown Canyon Ranch

Located at the shadow of the Huachuca Mountains, just minutes from the city limits, this ranch house offers visitors a taste of the early 1900s.

Originally occupied by John Thomas Brown and his family in the early 1800s, the property had many different owners until James and Tom Haverty built the ranch house between 1905 and 1907. Sitting beneath a tall willow tree next to a small pond, the ranch gives visitors a picturesque look back in time.

It is open seven days a week.

Directions: From Sierra Vista, take Highway 92 south until you reach Ramsey Canyon Road, take a right toward the mountains. Keep going on Ramsey Canyon Road until you pass Calle Metate, soon after that there will be a dirt parking area on the right. Turn into that parking area and follow the road to the ranch.

Zoo Walk for Autism Research

Participants enjoy 1.5 mile walk around the Phoenix Zoo while raising funds for ASU's autism /Asperger Research Program.

Henry Hauser Museum

Founded in 2000, the Henry Hauser Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving interpreting and disseminating knowledge about both natural and cultural material in the area.

The museum has been selected to host the Smithsonian Institute's Journeys Stories exhibits throughout the year and offers information about some of the city's historic sites. The museum was named in honor of a former city council member, school board member and mayor of Sierra Vista, Henry "Hank" Houser.

Hours: Monday through Thursday 10 .m. to 4 p.m , Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m (Starting in November). Closed holidays and special circumstances.

Fry Pioneer Cemetery

Located in Sierra Vista's West End, the Fry Pioneer Cemetery was listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places by the U.S. Department of Interior in 2010.

More than 400 people are buried in the family site and outside its walls. The site also serves as the final resting place of many Mexicans and Native Americans who were involved in establishing the Sierra Vista community.

GET THERE: Directions: Fry Pioneer Cemetery is located between 6th and 7th Street, about half a block north of Fry Boulevard, Sierra Vista's main east/west thoroughfare.

Walk Through History

You can find out all about the early days of Bisbee at the Bisbee Mining and Historical Museum located on Main Street in Oll Bisbee. The museum offers an array of the copper and other treasures found in the dark of the mountains far below the streets.

Other glimpses of the past can be found in the Muheim House and Bisbee Restoration Museum, also in Old Bisbee. There are also churches throughout the town that show the different styles of buildings of the various religions that came with the miners from Europe

Marksmanship training is a key component of the CMP's mission and now its time to compete!

The 2014 Western CMP Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches are coming up next month on Ocotber 10-19.

There are clinics as well as matches on October 10-14 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix.

Sierra Vista's San Pedro Riparian National Conservation

Visit historic San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area in Sierra Vista

Along with the approximate 57,000 acres of some of Arizona's most precious wildlife, this area is also home to some of the most ancient human sites.

Explore the ancient remains of the Ice Age and an 18th century Spanish fort in addition to a 19th century mining town located just south of Tucson, in the Sierra Vista region where there lies plenty of ancient history artifacts and actual sites.
